What we’re about
We're a group of passionate Programmers, Web Developers, Hardware Hackers, Students and Technologists in general. Our meetings typically feature a guest speaker talking about a current topic. As well as a chance for technical questions to be answered and to socialise with your peers in the Hunter. It's a great opportunity to learn new skills and stay in touch with what's happening in the region and around the world.

See all- May: Mark Wallis - Microservices and large scale API consumptionMudbath Digital , Newcastle
In May we'll have Mark Wallis talking to us about his work with either Microservices
Microservices were cool once. If you weren't running the Netflix stack then were you even really doing software? These days, we appreciate that each of the modern software architecture models has its place.
This month Mark Wallis from Skript will talk us through why they chose to go straight into Microservices for their new build, despite the fact that he should have known better. He will also talk through some of the challenges of consuming an API implemented by 114 different companies and how Microservices has helped keep their sanity".
In addition to Mark's talk there will be plenty of time to socialise and talk to other coders in Newcastle over Free Pizza and Drinks.
We'd like to thank our sponsors
- Newy Tech People
- Mudbath an Endava company
- Spahi Engineering
Mark Wallis is the CTO at Skript, a Fintech Startup working in the Consumer Data Right space. You may also recognise him from UON where he gets the opportunity to work with the 4th year Software Engineering students to expose them enterprise software architectures and networking.
