Hi, everybody. I have changed the second stop to North Italia instead of Chelseas Kitchen. The group size is considerably larger than expected and we would overwhelm Chelseas if we all went in at once.

We are doing our annual holiday bike pub crawl on Dec 14.
We will ride along the canals and hit various bars along the way.
We will not be riding on any busy streets, just a little bit on some residential streets to access the establishments near the canals.

We meet in the Chase parking lot at the SE corner of 44th street and Thomas. The bank will closed and there will be plenty of parking there.
Frys and Costco are in the same complex as the Bank. The bank is near the actual intersection of 44th and Thomas in the NW corner of the lot across from Frys. We have easy access to the canal system from there.
Look for the bikes.

I will publish the proposed route soon. We generally get one drink at each bar except for the one we stop to eat lunch at. The bars are usually a mile or two apart.
You are responsible for getting yourself home safely at the end off the ride. Uber and Lyft are your friends!

Here is the planned route:

We ride East a block or 2 to the bike path and ride the bike path North to the canal where we stop at Ohso.
From Ohso we ride the canal path West to North Italia, next to the Uhaul place..
From North Italia we ride East on the Canal and then south on 64th street canal bike path to Pitch at Thomas street. We will stop here for a longer time so that people can order some food for lunch(a good idea when you are drinking!)
From Pitch we will ride South on the bike path to Fate brewery on Scottsdale. This will involve a bit of riding on residential streets, but there should be no traffic.
From Fate we ride North to TTs roadhouse on 68th street North of Thomas.
At TTs we will check the time and if people want more we will ride North to JTs Pub across from Ohso. We can ride the canal to Old Town Scottsdale and visit some of the bars there if there is time.

All of these bars are about 2 miles apart except for the ride to Pitch, which is 5 miles. We will spend the vast majority of our time on bike path with no cars.

Please bring a helmet, light, and a bike lock.

If you are driving to the ride, please do not park your vehicle at any of the bars along the way. Most of these places(like OHSO) have very limited parking and it is rude to tie up a spot all day. The parking lot we are meeting at has lots of open space and is only a 10 minute bike ride to Ohso, our first stop. If you are driving please meet us at the Chase parking lot.

Again, remember: You are responsible for getting yourself home safely. Uber and Lyft are your friends!

Biking the Scottsdale Green Belt to Tempe Town Lake.
Current route is south from RT's, stop to regroup at Tempe Town Lake Marina. Continue west on bike path to the pedestrian bridge over the lake (blue light bridge by Tempe Center for the Arts). Leaving bridge we take a Right and continue West on path, then we cross to the North side of the riverbed by crossing on Priest Road bridge. At Priest bridge end we go Right back onto the bike path and stop there to regroup again. Then down path to the east, cross pedestrian bridge again and go Left - heading East on path. Go under Rural Road, and then hard hard right up path to get on to sidewalk over Rural Road Bridge. One more quick regroup there, then cross Rural Rd Bridge, and then follow sidewalk to the right around first apartment building on Rural, then take first driveway by apt. bldg, follow that and go Left back onto bike path, and follow that back to RTO's.

Join us for a great ride on the paved Queen Creek and Sonoqui Multi-use paths, a 15-mile loop.
We will start at The Bistro parking lot, travel south on Ellsworth to pick up the Queen Creek path then travel east to Rittenhouse, and south on Rittenhouse to Riggs. (1st regroup) Traveling west on Riggs we will pick up the Sonoqui path and travel the path to the end at Power Road. (2nd regroup) We will travel north on Power on a wide sidewalk or in the paved Bike Lane back to the Queen Creek Wash to complete the loop. Then Back to The Bistro parking lot. Pack up the bikes, then on to BJ's Restaurant & Brewery.
Since this is a night ride and there is little or no lighting on the paths, please come prepared with lights.
This is a no drop ride, we average about 10-12 mph.
