What went wrong with the polls? Do statisticians have a role to play?

Details
The Statistical Society recently called for volunteers to provide input into a report into the disparity between the opinion polls and the election result. Opinion polls involve a number of key statistical issues including sampling, non-response, weighting, modelling and science communication. We think it would be worthwhile to combine our members’ expertise to create a short publicly available expert report on what happened and how things might be improved.
Please come along and join an informal discussion and express your opinion on the opinion polls!
Light refreshments will be provided. All welcome.
Note: Some SSA members will attend regardless of the number of RSVPs
