This group is into Adventure Bike riding throughout South East Queensland & Northern New South Wales in particular, but also do regular overnight & further afield trips. All skill levels are catered for, from the more advanced riders, to beginners. Each meetup is described for the skill level required.
RE SUITABLE BIKES - Please be aware - for the bigger rides, your bike must be capable of between 300-800+km rides in a single day, and have at least a 300km fuel range, and typically dual purpose tyres or knobbies (not road tyres). Competition enduro or motocross bikes are not suitable either. Many rides could have 2-3 hours or more of bitumen involved as well as the off road component. Most rides will involve a combination of Gravel roads, 4WD trails, fire trails, and single trail as well, and will cater for all skill levels where possible.
RIDE (SKILL) RATINGS - so we can make sure everyone that comes along is going to enjoy themselves and not be put off when we hit harder terrain to ride over.
1. Beginner - Rider is new to off-road adventure riding, may be an experienced rider on bitumen but has not ridden much off-road and needs to learn the fundamental techniques of off-road riding. May not have tackled the challenges of mud, sand, rocks and kilometres of corrugations or experienced the unexpected behaviour from wild life and other obstacles on route.
2. Intermediate - Rider is confident off-road and demonstrated experience in tackling the challenges of mud, sand, rocks and kilometres of corrugations. Has experienced the unexpected behaviour from wild life and other obstacles on route.
3. Advanced - Experienced off-road Adventure Bike rider who can navigate tracks and forest trails on the fly and lead riders across difficult terrain in a range of weather conditions.
This by no means covers us for the unexpected when we may hit fallen trees washed out bridges and other natural disasters that we cannot foresee.
