Shaping and strengthening Pelvic floor. Week 2 - Opening and strengthening of vertical breath lines. Week 3 - EQ the VOICE - using the spine to make pitches shine. Week 4 - Tilting of the Sound Week 5 - (DROP-In) Awareness and strengthening of diaphragm and nasal area. Week 6 - (DROP-In) Verbrato, Pinching and other vocal nuances. Tone matching. Week 7 - (DROP-In) Emotional Connection techniques. Week 8 - Performance Workshop. The gracious venue Fatman's Cafe, in Darlinghurst and will be open for us to have a great welcoming space for us to get to know our voices more deeply. They've kindly put a wait staff on for us in case anyone wants to grab a coffee, cocktail or nibs off the snack menu before we get into training. There is nothing to be nervous about, we start from basics and there will be a real diversity of abilities in the class. Past rounds have had people improving with pitch issues and students discovering new tones in their voices, which everyone hears and gets excited for eachother. Just bring yourself, but please think of a piece that has challenges in it that you think you are not currently able to sing whether it be tone, pitch, timing. The techniques I teach to train the voice will likely be new to everyone.Everyone's voices will be adjusted to TONE MATCH the singer we are basing their piece on. This gives us all an opportunity to learn a huge range of technical details about how the voice and sound is actually working in singing. Often people will nail something, but likely struggle to maintain the new sound they have found. This is why singers keep training. The goal of training is to STRETCH and STRENGTHEN muscles involved in shaping of the resonating cavities. Some of the later workshops will focus on feel and agenda of communication through the voice too. We will also start a group number in week 2 to get us all blending together as early as possible. Every set of workshops rounds of with a DIVE IN performance evening. The next DiveIN is set for the 24 of April. It is a fun, no stress event with a Variety of performances including music, comedy, poetry, skits, juggling, dancing, whatever really. I also book an amazing HOUSE BAND so that you guys get the opportunity to perform you workshopped pieces and group number with professional musicians. It is usually an amazing supportive night where you can invite friends or family and show them what you have been doing. The entire course at $310 includes: - 8x 2 hour workshops at $35 each - I've added a $30 for the DIVE IN event and this helps me cover band and equipment expenses. CHECK OUT THE MENU: https://www.facebook.com/fatmanscafe256/?fref=ts COURSE INFORMATION: The 8 Week Workshop covers the following topics: A bit about me :) I am a Sydney based singer and teacher of vocal technique. I've been helping adults train their voices for over 5 years and her passion for manipulating the voice is full throttle. Chaining concepts from my childhood in South Africa where singing is about community, communication and freedom of expression together with my technical education of music in Sydney, Australia (Bachelor of Music). "I'd like this workshop to be a helpful introduction to the specific mechanisms within the voice which control the movement and production of sound throughout the instrument. The goal is to get people thinking about the way the voice shapes and resonates so their practice is more efficient and better guided towards desired breakthroughs. Stretch and strengthen important areas in your instrument increasing tonal vocabulary for a greater diversity of communication and expression. Think. Practice. Play. Resonate." If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to working with you and your voices. Kind regards, Hayley 0435577801 I will also be running SING INtensives where we will arrange, prepare and properly workshop a GROUP PERFORMANCE SONG for DiveIN on the 24th of April. At these SING INtensives learn more about vocal harmony, arrangement and reading music. $37.50 / 2hr INtensive Workshop.
