What we’re about
Snohomish County makers seeking like-minded for shared skills, equipment, projects.
We are looking for new and used (skilled, ha-ha) makers to join us putting on workshops, social events, and sharing workshop time. We have interests in electronics, programming, robotics, microcontrollers, 3D printing, laser cutters (additive and subtractive technologies), arts, molding, casting, routing, and woodworking. We have a great space in South Everett a stones throw from Boeing with super easy access for drivers and bus riders alike. Join us at an open house and bring a friend!
*** Requesting to join our meetup group? Make sure you are obviously part of the local area (members of other area groups, a photo, OR something that says “hey I’m not a robot”... at a minimum be a little chatty in the join question. We get a lot of attempted spammers requesting a join and decline people from out of the area***
Our website is http://www.snocomakers.org and if you need some technical help or conversation join us at our facebook group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/10576893376...
We hope you will consider membership for access outside workshops! If you feel like you'd qualify for a scholarship membership please contact any board member or officer. We will put the tools in your hands and show you how to use them.

Join Jeff in the metal shop for this class that provides information and practice to help you start your welding journey! If you have never welded before, this is the class for you.
This class will focus on the MIG welder, which is the easiest of all welding to learn.
REQUIRED PPE / EQUIPMENT:
- Welding Helmet (Yeswelder or Yeswelder2)
- Welding Gloves (Yeswelder1)
- Long Sleeve Shirt or Welding Jacket (Jacket or Sleeves)
- Natural Fiber Clothing (Cotton, Wool, Linen)
- Closed Toe Shoes
Class Topics:
- What is welding?
- Machine Set Up
- Proper Apparel and Gear
- Basic Weld Joints
- Basic Fabrication Techniques
Welding is an art and the only way to become good is practice. This class will teach you the basics of how to get a good weld so you can practice good techniques in the future. Some time will be spent on how to set up the machine, but most of class will be spent practicing basic welds. Note that this class will only focus on steel. Material will be provided, but if you have something you’d like to bring, please feel free.
Welding produces sparks, LOTS of sparks, so NO open toed shoes or synthetic clothes will be allowed. If you show up in Crocs/sandals or nylon/polyester, you will be asked to leave. Please wear clothes you do not care about, as you will likely leave with holes in them. You will also need a welding helmet, gloves, and a jacket or sleeves. We have a few helmets and gloves to loan out but they are not the best so its in your best interest to purchase your own. See required equipment for recommendations.
Again, you MUST register and pay here on Zeffy to secure your spot!
We look forward to seeing you - Happy Making!
