What we’re about

Social Cyclists SEQ is an inclusive social group for adults who enjoy cycling, exploration, and social connection. Our focus is on fun, fitness, and friendship.

We host rides on weekends from various locations across Brisbane and beyond. Routes include bike paths, shared pathways, urban streets, and roads. We also organise occasional mountain bike rides, rail trail adventures, weekend getaways, and social events.

Ride Categories:

  1. Easy Social Ride: 30-40km, 18-23kph on flat terrain. Ideal for confident beginners with basic fitness.
  2. Mid-level Social Ride:  40-70km, 23-25kph, moderate hills. Suitable for advanced beginners/intermediate riders.
  3. Advanced/Training Ride: 70-100km, 25-30kph, challenging hills. Designed for experienced riders seeking endurance and pace.
  4. Exploratory Ride: Full-day adventure, 50-100km. Pace varies by terrain. For fit, experienced riders who enjoy discovery.

Distances and speeds are guidelines and may vary based on conditions and participants. All rides are no-drop, meaning no one is left behind.

Social Cyclists SEQ is not a registered organisation or an official cycling club. We do not offer or have public liability insurance of any kind. Principally it is just a group of people enjoying activities together.

Cycling can be a hazardous activity, particularly in traffic or among pedestrians. You must accept you are at risk and may suffer or cause injury or property loss or damage. You must take care to avoid injury or damage to yourself and others.

The event organisers and group leaders are volunteers. We do not claim to be experts in any way. Care is taken in the planning of events, and you should read the event information before signing up for any event. By attending an event with this group, you agree that the event organisers and group leaders cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damage that may occur as a result of your participation in the event.

In addition, you must agree to obey all road rules whilst on the ride.
