What we're about

Social Cyclists SEQ is a friendly social group for people who enjoy cycling, exploring the great outdoors of South East Queensland and meeting new people. The main focus of this group is to get like-minded people together cycling for fun, fitness, friendship and adventure. We welcome all backgrounds and fitness levels.

Our weekly rides are social, designed to suit riders who are confident and competent in cycling. Most of our rides are scheduled on weekends and from various locations around Brisbane. We ride on bike paths, shared pathways and on roads, with distances ranging from 30 km to 80+ km. Average speed is around 18-23kmph. The emphasis is on enjoyment and friendship, not on speed. And we’ll always stop for coffee and chat either half way or at the end of the ride.

Our events are not limited to road cycling, we will also include some easy to moderate mountain biking events, trips on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, other weekend adventures, dinner, movie nights, walks and more.

We aim to hold rides to suit all fitness levels. So before choosing a ride, please read through the event description and choose the ride that best suits your ability. Some riders will find the slower paced shorter rides more suitable, while others will enjoy a faster pace, longer distances and extra hills.

We are all about sharing and fostering a community of connected cyclists. We want members to feel proud of being part of this group – it’s your group too! We encourage members to be involved and share ideas. If you know a good bike ride location or would like to host an event, please let the organiser or the leadership team know.

If you’d like to join us, please answer all questions and upload a recognisable photo of yourself. This helps organisers and members to recognise each other at an event.
