The Distributed Big Ball of Mud

Details

Modern software systems are composed of multiple services and client applications in order to meet today’s ever increasing user expectations.

Decomposing a system into the right services and building front ends on top of these systems are hard challenges. In order to avoid ending up with a distributed big ball of mud, it is vital to apply the right techniques when designing and building such systems.

We are happy to have two guest speakers from Particular Software with us this evening to share their valuable experience which will save your projects from failing.

First Adam Ralph will give practical advice on discovering the hidden boundaries in your systems, by showing how to tease out the natural separation of concerns in a sample business domain.

In the second talk Mauro Servienti will show how to design front ends with a back end consisting of multiple services. Once we have separation and autonomy on the back end, how do you properly bring things back together on the front end?

We are looking forward to an interesting evening.

This meetup is sponsored by ERNI (https://www.betterask.erni).
