What we're about

SOLVING THE JIGSAW FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS is a 10 week life skills program specifically designed to enhance the wellbeing of students and their families by developing important life skills, coping strategies, problem solving skills and the art of assertive communication. Building Resilience and teaching children, young people and parents/caregivers strategies is essential for students and families recovering from or dealing with their child’s experience of bullying and violence.

Solving the Jigsaw is a multi-award winning, wellbeing and life skills program developed by not-for-profit organisation, The Centre for Non-Violence, in 1997 and is delivered in primary and secondary schools. The program has over 19 years practical experience working with thousands of teachers and over 27,000 children and young people across Australia.

Now in its 3rd year on the Gold Coast, we have identified a need for alternative supports to be available within the community for students and their families who are unable to access recovery programs through schools and local agencies / service providers.

As a Nationally Accredited Solving the Jigsaw facilitator, in consultation with the creators of the original Solving the Jigsaw program from Centre for Non-Violence, we have adapted the program content using the key concepts to meet these needs and to support both child and parent/carer.

* A key point of difference with the program is that we include families in the recovery process. A first of its kind on the Gold Coast!

We are passionate about taking our experiences and life-skills programs into schools and the wider community to support students, parents, teachers and communities throughout the South East Qld region, ensuring they have direct access to the program and additional support services required to move through and beyond life's challenges!
