What we’re about
Meet others interested in meditation near you! Learn how to meditate or deepen your current meditation practice. Our weekly meetings are on a drop in basis and we have a really nice group of people attending regularly. Please check out our message board to see our meditation topics in previous weeks.
A trademark of the meditations we emphasize is the ease in which they can be used both “on the cushion” and in our daily lives. Each meeting will include practical, guided meditation, and a talk on how to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life and how to increase mental and physical well-being. There will also be plenty of time to discuss the ideas presented.
Although the meditations and talks are based on Kadampa Buddhist philosophy, you don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy this group. Kadampa Buddhism stresses a spiritual path of individual transformation and to look within ourselves for the inner peace and happiness we seek. Everyone is welcome!
These group meetings are based out of Kadampa Meditation Center New York, located in Glen Spey, NY. For more information visit http://www.kadampanewyork.org
We hope to meet you soon!
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Buddhist Meditation Class - Topic: Loving over judgingSparta Ambulance Building, Sparta Township, NJ
Current Series: The Healing Power of Love
Tonight’s topic: Loving over judgingEmbrace loving-kindness. Love is a wish for others to be happy, or to have a peaceful, positive mind. It is not a wish for them to simply get what they want, but instead for them to find the peace that we all long for. It is not a docile or simply passive attitude, but a protective, strong state of mind. Meditations on love heal our anger, resentment, judgement, and low self-esteem, and they also bring about healing in our relationships. As we grow our confidence through finding happiness from our love, we are able to really be there for our family, friends, and community. We become a source of inspiration to others, and a force for good. We will look step-by-step how to cultivate love in meditation and how to integrate it with our busy lives. Everyone welcome!

September 9: Solve all problems (just add love)
September 16: Loving over judging
