What we’re about

Established in 2006, we are book-lovers who meet monthly in the Sydney CBD or Surry Hills area, close to public transport.
We usually meet the first week of the month, on Mondays or Tuesdays from 6:30pm (for a 7pm book discussion start) to discuss this month's book and chat about other books we've read.
Most members are 30-55 years and enjoy reading a variety of books, including fiction, non-fiction and book-to-film adaptions. The group jointly selects books to read every six months. To keep members costs down, we generally favour books readily available in public libraries or second hand bookshops. Though we do read new release if it comes highly recommended.
While primarily a book club, we occasionally host Sunday brunch catch ups and organise to see a movie or play together a couple of times a year.

2025/2026 book discussions include:
*Prima Facie (Suzie Miller)
*Honor (Thrity Umrigar)
*And Then She Fell (Alicia Elliot)
*Broken Verses (Kamila Shamsie)

2024/2025 book discussions:
* Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong bookshop (Hwang Bo-Reum)
* Before the coffee gets cold (Toshikazu Kawaguchi)
* All that's left unsaid (Tracey Lien)
* Birnam Wood (Eleanor Catton)
* Small things like these (Claire Keegan)
*Unwell Women: Misdiagnosis and myth in a man-made world (Elinor Cleghorn)
*The Vanishing Half (Brit Bennett)
