Walking has a huge impact on your mental health and happiness. Fresh air. Nature. Community. Mindfulness. The list goes on! We love taking The Yes Project community members on group hikes and family friendly walks around Brisbane and South East Queensland.

Everyone is welcome on a YES WALK! You don't need to register, just show up and join us. Don't have anyone to walk with? That's what we're here for! It's fine if you're walking solo - there's always someone to chat with in our group. Know someone who could benefit from a walk? Bring them with you!

Sometimes our walks draw large crowds and other times it is just a small group of us hiking somewhere incredible. We run walks for all different fitness levels and details will be posted here and on our Facebook or Instagram pages with further details. Most of our walkers are in their 20s 30s and 40s. Some people bring their kids if the walk is suitable. Other times it's adults only.

ABOUT THE YES PROJECT
We all know someone who is feeling lonely. Going through a tough time. Struggling with their mental health. Maybe it's your friend, family member, neighbour, work colleague. Or perhaps it's you. The mission for our not-for-profit organisation is to help people feel good again. By encouraging people to just say YES - particularly when it feels like all you want to do is say no.

Everyone is welcome in our community. Whether mental health is an ongoing struggle for you, you're just having a bad week or you want to be a part of something meaningful. And if you know someone who isn't doing so great, take their hand and join a project together. It could be the most important thing you do today.

YES WALK - MT COOT-THA BRISBANE QLD

J.C. Slaughter Falls

It’s another The Yes Project YES WALK Brisbane! Come and join us on Sunday October 13th for our next sunrise walk up Mt Coot-tha! If you've ever wanted to hike to the top of this amazing Brisbane landmark, now is your chance! It's a 5km-ish walk (total - up and back) and WOW is the view worth the effort! Take in the incredible panorama across Brisbane city and beyond. The walk up itself is, of course ... UP. But it's not crazy hard and ok for medium - good fitness levels. We're not super fit and won't be taking it too fast with lots of rest stops along the way! It's also a dog friendly walk if they're on a lead. To park, enter the J C Slaughter Falls picnic area (off off Sir Samuel Griffiths Dr - enter opposite the gate to Stuartholme College - there may also be a little coffee caravan there too). There are a few parking areas (head left) but you'll see our flag so you'll know where to find us!⁠ See you at 6:45am for a 7am sharp start. The walk should be done by 9am so there is plenty of time before weekend commitments begin or time to drive back to the top for a coffee or breakfast after at The Summit cafe. ⁠⠀ This is a GRADE 3 walk so should be fine for most confident walkers who can make the distance. THIS IS A FREE EVENT but an optional gold coin donation is much appreciated.
