What we're about
This group is devoted to bringing together the motorcycle riding women of Melbourne.
No matter what you ride or your riding ability, although it is strongly advisable that 'green' riders practise how to control the basics of a motorcycle and have a few hours of riding on various road surfaces at various speeds - (not just around the block!) before joining our group rides. This is to ensure the safety of everyone.
We’re a growing group and while happy to ride with the boys, there’s something about riding together as women that’s a different type of fun.
As motorcyclists we know that motorcycling isn’t just a means to get from A to B, it's a way of life. One that isn’t easy, but keeps on getting better and better the more time you put in.
That’s why the purpose of this group is to support each other and encourage other women to experience the joys (and frustrations!) of motorbike riding.
Outings will include social rides through Victoria’s beautiful country side, cafe rides to share a coffee and have a chat, charity rides to give back to the community, motorcycle expos and whatever else sparks our interest.
Please note that on occasions, male partners will be permitted to join (this will be specified on posts) but these events will be rare. Most of our rides will be all-female only events.
So let’s get together and make new friends doing the thing we love.
Follow us and join us on our Facebook page. However, please note that you must be a member of MML on meetup in order to RSVP and attend any of our scheduled group rides.
* please note that meetup is a 'paid' site and that in order for us to keep the group running, we will kindly ask for a donation of $2 each time a member attends a ride. Thank you ahead for your understanding but this is a not-for-profit group and once the total fee is paid by the organiser, surplus money will be donated to The Snowy Ride.
New and present members are also asked to read our Riding Guidelines and Ride Level documents before attending any of our scheduled rides. Please click on the 'Pages' tab and read this document before joining our rides. Members must be aware of expectations of all riders as well as of the event organisers and of the corner marking system we use on all of our rides. Your safety is our number one priority as well as the enjoyment of attending our rides.
