About us
Ours is an inclusive, welcoming group at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Winston-Salem. There is no cost to join, it’s open to everyone, and all ages and levels of experience are welcome.
We plan and host educational events on the climate crisis and related sustainability issues. We also plan outings that can range anywhere from a simple stroll down the greenway, to biking short sections of the Virginia Creeper Trail, kayaking local rivers or simply checking out edible plants on a short nature walk.
Suggestions are happily accepted. Come with us and enjoy the fresh air, nature at its finest, AND learn about our amazing planet along the way.

Warren County Environmental Action Team| “Our Movement Starts Here” is an 82-minute feature length documentary chronicling the birth of the environmental justice movement in 1982 which was sparked by the fight of a rural, majority-Black community in Warren County, North Carolina, against a toxic PCB landfill.
| The documentary combines contemporary interviews with original protesters and newer activists to highlight how the movement continues to inspire efforts against environmental inequities, climate injustices and systemic marginalization that disproportionately affect communities of color. Younger activists are learning from their elders about the environmental movements, and how they are locally rooted yet internationally influential. |
