THIS SERIES WILL TAKE PLACE 3 CONSECUTIVE TUESDAYS (specifically (8/19, 8/26, and 9/2). If you cannot attend any of these days, do NOT register for this class. There is no refund or rescheduling of a missed class or cancellation. Cost is $75 for the series and pay at the first class.
LEVEL 1 (INDOOR EDITION): CORE TRAINING & CANINE MOVEMENT
This series helps you build a clear and simple way to communicate with your pup — boosting confidence on both ends of the leash. As you learn to understand each other better, you'll naturally build trust, teamwork, and a deeper connection.
You’ll be introduced to marker words and core skills (sit, down, come, place). You'll also learn fun, practical agility and movement exercises you can do at home to keep your dog mentally and physically engaged—even when walks aren't an option. Perfect for rainy/snow/scorching weather or busy schedules, this class focuses on building coordination, confidence, and a stronger bond through simple, space-friendly activities.
Bring high value treats and water for you and yourself.
Limited to 8 dogs. The class is held in a retail space, so dogs should be comfortable in an enclosed area. Note: this class is NOT ideal for dogs who are especially difficult to handle.
When you RSVP, you'll be asked "Are you bringing anyone?" Leave the number at 0 unless you plan to bring more than one dog. If you wish to bring a 2nd dog, you must have a 2nd handler who has his/her own Meetup account who must also RSVP.
If you are unable to attend this class, please cancel your registration ASAP and preferably 24 hours before the scheduled date/time to give a person on the waitlist ample notice
% of class cost will be donated to United Animal Friends. If you would like to further donate to UAF, please click here.
- "Weeding Party" (Training Space)UAF Ranch, Prescott, AZ
**Please note start time at 8:00 to beat the heat!**
We’re looking for volunteers to help us weed the play yards we use for dog training. Keeping the space tidy and safe is important for both our pups and us! 🐾 If you're able to help, please make sure you submit a UAF Volunteer Form and then RSVP here on Meetup for a count. When completing the Volunteer Form, select "Yard Maintenance at UAF Rescue Ranch." (If you're already an approved UAF volunteer or have already submitted one, you do not need to re-submit.)
What to bring: Gloves, water, bucket, and any weeding tools you have. We may have some on hand, but they are dirty.
Dog group play: Bring your dog if your dog is an active Level 2 class participant AND has been approved by Sammi for group play or contact her for pre-approval at 310-382-0079. All dogs in a playgroup must be assessed for compatibility. If dogs are found incompatible, Sammi will consider splitting the dogs in different groups and/or other secured play yards.
Parking: Park in the lot where we have dog training classes.
Your support makes a big difference! Let’s make the play yard a wonderful space for adoptable dogs and class dog participants to enjoy it! 💪🌻
Thanks in advance, and see you there! 😊
