Weekday Walks - walking, hiking London

An amazing 11 mile walk starting from Seaford as we walk along the coast to the delightful Cuckmere River - taking in a wonderful view of The White Horse - which we shall follow to the iconic beautiful village of Alfriston where we shall pop in to one of the historic pubs.

From there we shall rejoin the South Downs Way to have a great view of The Long Man of Wilmington.

We shall visit a pub in Alfriston and explore this lovely village.

You may choose to finish the walk earlier at Alfriston and then take the 125 bus at 4.07pm.

At the end of the full walk we shall stop for a drink and then take the short bus ride to Berwick and then the subsequent train back to London.

Please arrive by 9.15am to facilitate the purchase of group train tickets, or use your passes, for the train at 9.54am that arrives at Seaford at 11.11am after change of train.

We shall stop for public toilets before the walk commences.

Meetup fee £5 payable in cash or in advance by bank transfer.

Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots or trainers and suncream, sunhat and sunglasses.

You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity.

Let's go with the flow and do this stunning FREE 5 to 6 mile walk first along Long Water in Hampton Court Park and then by the lovely waterways of Bushy Park!

We shall take the train back from Teddington after first stopping off at a great pub where you may wish to have lunch.

Things to bring : water, snacks etc and waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots/trainers.

Using our Oyster Cards we shall take the train at 10.06am that arrives at Hampton Court train station at 10.43am.

Walk shall start by 10.55am

Or you may decide to drive.

You should have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour.

A most wonderful day of walking, visiting and sightseeing!

Audley End is a magnificent 17th century Jacobean prodigy country house in held within English Heritage in recent times.

We shall not be entering the house but shall enjoy a stroll in Audley End Estate after a delightful 8 to 9 mile walk in the Essex countryside.

We shall buy group return train tickets to Newport ( Essex) as from 10am for the train at 10.28am that arrives at 11.27am.

Train : Newport ( Essex) return

Walk starts at around 11.35am.

You may wish to drive instead.

Mid afternoon after spending some time in Audley House Estate we shall stop for a drink or coffee in Saffron Walden which has been voted the most desirable place to live in England in 2025.

Bus 301 back to Newport ( Essex) train station at 4.34pm and then train back to London at 5.14pm.

Please bring a packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots or trainers.
