This group is for WOMEN only, those seeking fun and new friendships and to explore everything that Sydney has to offer. Please join me and like minded ladies who share similar interests. This group is for women 50+, of all backgrounds, to make connections and have the opportunity to develop long lasting friendships.
Events will be held regularly around Sydney for brunch/lunch/dinner, drinks, art galleries, theatres, shows, movies, festivals, special events, day trips, wine tastings and escorted trips to France.
I have noticed recently however that Meetup members don't seem to be taking Meetup groups seriously and there are a huge number of no-shows, and even a disinterest in the group activities. I have a strict policy of managing your rsvp so please only join this group if you're likely to attend the meetups you've rsvp'd for. If you think you will not come to any events don't sign yourself up, just for the sake of signing up please.
If you can not make it to an event, you must change your booking 48 hours prior. Last minute cancellations will not be allowed as the other girls on the waiting list can't normally make it at the last minute, and the majority of restaurants are now asking for credit cards as guarantee and I will be charged for noshos. It is not fair to the organiser, to those on the waiting list and to the venue.
As I always give plenty of opportunity for anyone to cancel 1 day before when I send out a reminder email, here are our conditions :
1 nosho and you will be removed from the group
cancelling on the day you will be removed from the group unless you have a good reason
All members must have a clear profile photo and all must have a first name.
EVENT COST : If you are wondering what the 'unpaid' in red means next to your name, it is just the amount that is charged at each event, $5. No need to pre-pay it, it is collected from each person at the event. Please make sure you bring the exact money, a $5 note as organisers will not have change.
I'm open to everyone's suggestions for other meetup ideas and I look forward to meeting you at an event soon.

YumCha Brunch
The Eight Restaurant, Market City, Level 3 9-13 Hay St, Haymarket 2000 NSW, Sydney, AUA more modern style Chinese restaurant in Market City features dim sum favourites everybody knows and loves, as well as treats you don’t see at every yum cha restaurant such as ma lai gao (steamed brown sugar cake) and lap cheong rolls. All these years of organising lunches, I thought a yum cha in Chinatown would be a great addition! I've booked a table for 20 people so I hope many of you can make it.
Must-try dish: Their fried cheong fun are bouncy vessels for the addictive hoisin and peanut sauces.
But before we leave we need to also make room for cream puffs at Emperor's Garden Cakes & Bakery, 96-100 Hay Street, Haymarket. It seems they are to die for!
