VAGINA! ("Anatomy of a Power Pussy", Dinner & After Party)
Let’s do dinner, a show...and a great big VAGINA! Whether or not you were born with a vagina, everyone has the potential to be a Power Pussy! Somewhere lurking within every man and woman there dwells that unbreakable creative spirit just waiting to grab life by the ovaries and ROAR! Come and learn about what it is to be a Power Pussy and let your almighty feminine side out to play! TICKETS: We have already made the group booking. If you haven't got your ticket already, just grab a ticket from here>> https://melbournefringe.com.au/event/anatomy-of-a-power-pussy/ WHAT TO WEAR: Come dressed as a Power Pussy! Come dressed in something that boldly colourfully represents what you see to be the best aspects of femininity. Men, YES! that means you too! WHAT TO BRING: Flowers Raid your garden or drop into your local fruit ‘n’ veg shop and grab some FLOWERS. Flowers are pretty much plant vaginas so I feel it’s appropriate to reward the star of the show with a rain of flowers during her curtain call. DINNER: We will be meeting at Alpha Ouzeri Restaurant, 342 Brunswick St, Fitzroy for dinner and conversation games. After dinner we will parade proudly down the street to Hares and Hyenas to catch the final performance of Anatomy of a Power Pussy THE SHOW: ANATOMY OF A POWER PUSSY: A 60-minute exploration of life as a Power Pussy, it features real-life stories from the deLightfully sassy bombshell herself, with inspiration from her community of fierce felines. Her signature powerhouse vocals will entice, inspire and excite with heartfelt interpretations and reworkings of classic and modern songs. The show challenges perception and encourages thoughts, tackling issues close to deLightful's heart including life as a queer, love as a performer and loss… as a human. Not just a show for those identifying as female - “Anatomy of a Power Pussy” will appeal to people of all genders from all walks of life. This is a safe space. Being a Power Pussy is about connecting yourself with that feminine sexuality within all of us, that empowering energy that challenges us to be the fiercest versions of ourselves. “Anatomy of a Power Pussy” teaches there is power from vulnerability as much as boldness. A decisive next step for one of Melbourne’s most ambitious cabaret stars. THE VAGINA AFTER PARTY: After the show, we are invited to Sophie DeLightfuls after party

What we're about

This is a social group dedicated to exploring all the strange, obscure, weird, wild, absurd, bizarre, avant garde, unconventional entertainments that Melbourne has to offer.

BEWARE! This ain't no brunch club. There will be NO trivia nights at the local RSL. This group is not for the faint of heart - it is for people who are fun, adventurous, and ready to hit their wild button. All ages (18+), all genders, all sexual orientations, all types - anyone who wants to explore an alternative, bohemian, experimental, wild-at-heart side of Melbourne is welcome!

We want this to be the place where everyone can just come as they are and mingle with people who are like them AND who are NOT like them. Let your hair down! Go wild! Be open minded, be non-judgmental, expand yourself, challenge yourself and, most importantly, BE yourself.

"And now," cried Max, "let the wild rumpus start!" - Maurice Sendak, Where the Wild Things Are

OUR TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM

Our events (like our members!) are each wild in a different way.

Some events are artistically wild, challenging us to explore new and unusual forms of art, music, burlesque, cabaret, poetry, theatre...and all varieties of bohemian performing arts events. We call these "GREEN EVENTS"

Some events are socially wild, and involve activities that challenging us to open up and risk truth in order to make genuine, non-superficial connections with each other. We call these "YELLOW EVENTS"

Some events are just plain WILD and only suitable for the truly adventurous!! These events challenge our self-imposed limitations and the socially constructed concepts of "normal". If an event "May contain nudity and adult themes" we will mark them as a "RED EVENT!"

WHERE WE DRAW THE LINE:

There are no drugs and no sex parties! We do not include things in our event that put our members at risk, break the law or fail to meet with meetups defined policies and guidelines. Each member is responsible for their own behavior and is expected to treat members, venues, entertainers and staff with courtesy and respect.

TICKETS:

Our events are audience funded so almost all of our events are pre-purchase only. (no tickets at the door). This enables us to cover costs of our events without risk. We are unable to offer refunds, however, if you purchase a ticket and then can't make it, you can post on our message board that you are looking to sell your ticket.
