This Wilderness Institute Meetup is for everyone who loves nature and the outdoors!
Please join us on a Wilderness Adventure to learn new wilderness skills, hike new trails, meet new friends, and gain valuable knowledge on how to have a safe and well prepared outdoor adventure! The Wilderness Institute provides Wilderness Education, Training and Advocacy. Our outdoor recreation programs, activities and experiential events include eco-tourism, nature and fitness hiking, outdoor education, adventure seminars, wilderness survival, rock climbing, ropes courses, emergency preparedness, community service and more!

Are you prepared for an emergency, such as wildfire, flooding, windstorms, lock downs, or an earthquake? Experts advise people prepare for at least 72 hours of self-sufficiency before assistance can be provided. Shelter, water, food, communication, and first-aid are only a few of the basic needs. Join us in this hands-on class to learn about disaster preparation and how to make your own Emergency Kit and a Grab-and-Go Bag. Bring a lunch and refillable water bottle. Refreshments will be provided, and you'll receive an emergency response manual. This course is presented by the nonprofit Wilderness Institute and takes place at the Santa Fe Tree House Camp and Wilderness Preserve.

Native Plants Gathering and Use- $149
Santa Fe Treehouse Camp, 46 Treehouse Rd, Santa Fe, NM, USNative Plants Gathering and Use- 9AM-4PM, Sat, 5/16, $149
Primitive peoples lived intimately with the land and knew how to utilize native plants to meet their everyday needs. From cordage, to natural dyes, to wild edibles, to medicinal herbs, plants were an important resource. Join us for a short forest hike to gather then process native plants to create your own useful and artistic items. Examples include a natural dyed hanging display, nature bracelet, basketry, fishing spear, and even some wild edibles to share at lunch beside a campfire! Dress for a hike and time outdoors and bring a lunch and refillable water bottle. This course is presented by the nonprofit Wilderness Institute and takes place at the Santa Fe Tree House Camp and Wilderness Preserve.
