A classic South Downs hike via Alfriston and Cuckmere to dramatic coastal cliffs

Join us for a classic summer hike along the South Downs Way with sweeping views out to sea, the picturesque village of Alfriston and the beautiful Cuckmere River, before reaching the stunning white cliffs of the South Coast.
This is one of our favourite walks, offering great sea views and a rich mix of landscapes. Highlights include a charming village with a green, cafés, and 14th-century church; a tranquil winding river; and the famous Litlington White Horse carved into the hillside.
The route takes in Seaford Head, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Seven Sisters, one of the most iconic coastal scenes in the country.
We'll finish with a 5km clifftop walk into Seaford, and the option to celebrate a great day out in a pub garden.

Ascent: 530 metres
Duration: 6 hours walking
Grade: Intermediate, along good paths with one or two short steep climbs.

CANCELLING/REFUNDS
If you can no longer join the hike, please message the Host listed on here, and update your RSVP status to 'Not going', to allow others to take your place. If the hike is full, and you have messaged us and have changed your RSVP to 'Not going', we will refund you, less than the PayPal/Meetup fees. To obtain this, please email info@aaalondongroup.com after the event, with the email address you use on your PayPal account and transaction reference. If the hike is not full, unfortunately we will not be able to provide any refund.
