About James

James Chapman-Smith's journey in .NET started as an early adopter of .NET, Visual Basic .NET in 2001 when the V1 Framework was still in Beta. By 2005, he had transitioned to C#. James's entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Discount Party Supplies with his wife, Kirsty, in 2008. James leveraged his coding expertise to create tools that enabled the business to scale efficiently. His efforts have been recognized, with Discount Party Supplies becoming a finalist in the SA Fast Movers awards for four consecutive years. Discount Party Supplies is now Australia's largest online retailer of party supplies.

About Donald

Donald Urquhart found programming early when a copy of Borland C++ Builder 6 was included with a PC magazine he bought. He then moved on to Visual Basic 6 and when .NET came out he happily declared managed languages would always be too slow before moving back to C++, this time with a focus on computer graphics using OpenGL and game development. Donald, having to eat his own words, has now found himself as a C# developer writing web based applications for the last decade. He now works at Discount Party Supplies where he takes pride in leveraging his skills to optimize processes and make peoples lives easier.
