The Soul and Us - free public talk
Details
In our lifelong efforts to become fully human, at some point we turn inward. At our core is a spiritual centre, mostly ignored, but continuously available. What we describe as a spiritual path is this process of turning our attention and awareness toward the soul.
Join us for a special presentation by the president of the Theosophical Society, author of On The Verge of Wisdom, as he shares insights gleaned from a lifelong devotion to spiritual search.
- What does it mean to live a spiritual life?
- How can we move from seeking to knowing?
- How can we move from knowing to being?
Tim Boyd has served as the International President of the Theosophical Society since 2014. Under his leadership, the Theosophical Society’s international headquarters has flourished with renewed purpose — founding schools, nurturing ecological and humanitarian projects and inspiring seekers around the world.
In 2007 he became president of the Theosophical Order of Service (TOS) USA, and in 2011 was elected President of the TS in America. Tim’s involvement with the Theosophical Order of Service and the Chushul orphanage in Tibet led to an audience with the Dalai Lama, which resulted in the TS in America sponsoring the Dalai Lama's visit to Chicago in July of 2011 — a two-day event attended by 10,000 people. The event raised $400,000, all of which was donated to educational projects aiding Tibetan communities worldwide.
Mr Tim Boyd currently shares his time between the headquarters of the TS Adyar in Chennai, India, and his home in Chicago, Illinois, USA, where he lives with his wife, Lily, and daughter, Angelique.
