Trail: Grade 4 moderate
Come explore the outer perimeter walking trails around Greater Cleland Conservation Park. The trails pass through strands of pine and eucalypt forest, along single walking trail, shared trails, fire tracks, and a little roadside walking.
We begin at the foot of Mt Osmond following the Pioneer Women Track, going past Measday Lookout, into part of Mt Lofty Summit-hike, and finishing at our destination at the Cleland Wildlife Park. Here we stop at the Barking Gecko Café for break, then loop back through the Winter track which will close the circuit and bring us to our starting point in Beaumont. Birds and koalas galore.
A couple of steep but short sections with long flat breaks in between. You need to be relatively fit to do this hike. No beginners or people with precarious injuries.
Good hiking shoes are recommended. Plenty of water, raingear and hat are a must!
Meet at the corner of Dashwood Rd and Duncan Rd (see pin drop – placed with precision).
Meet at 8.50 am for introductions, and be ready for departure at 9 am sharp.
Note: this hike has a 20min stop at the Cleland Wildlife Café for coffee/drinks (free entry to the café, purchase is not required).
