Let's enjoy enjoy our usual heritage walk with some great stobie pole art also!.....

"Where local history meets creativity, compassion and community.
The Cheltenham Cemetery Art Walk of Compassion brings stories from the past to life through public art, transforming the streets surrounding Cheltenham Cemetery into an open-air gallery.
When complete, the Art Walk will feature 66 unique artworks across 33 Stobie poles along High Street, Woodstock Street, Chippenham Street and Port Road, plus two beautifully transformed bus shelters on Port Road.
The project began with three passionate volunteers: local residents Elizabeth Williamson and Michelle Hargreaves, and local artist Chloe Bower. Since mid 2024, Elizabeth Williamson has continued to volunteer her time, ably supported by Hayley Morton. Together they work to ensure the project is completed, which means everything from approvals, funding, artist briefs, curation, installation and maintenance...... "

Not all of the stobie pole art work has a heritage story but most do..... and we can add a quick browse around the cemetery where some of the local SA pioneers now rest...

After the walk we can re-meet at the Woodville Hotel for a meal and/or drinks... (Please let me know when you RSVP if you are attending the hotel so I can book a table.)

By recording a YES RSVP and/or attending this Event you are agreeing to our Policies & Guidelines and our Disclaimer & Release. (These documents can obtained by contacting the Organiser)

Voluntary Meetup Contribution suggested - $1.00
