Poestenkill Community Forest Photo Walk-work off your Thanksgiving meal

I have not been there but have seen some nice photos of this area. Wear bright colors as some hunting is allowed.Over 9 miles of trails. Poestenkill Community Forest hosts a mix of hemlock, soft maple, hard maple, cherry, ash, beech, and conifers; 15-20 acres of forested and open wetlands, including Big Beaver Bog; and seasonal streams and brooks.
A network of old logging roads forms the basis of an extensive trail system and includes remnants of the colonial-era Albany- Boston Post Road. Over nine miles of trails travel through various terrains and ecosystems with significant elevation gain in the upper reaches of the property. A bygone era of subsistence farming shows itself in numerous old stone walls, which border former crop and pasture fields.
