• Hike Rating: 2/5 ModerateStart the weekend with a beautiful circular walk from Studley Heath, passing through Coopers Hill, Ashley Cross, Alderhill Enclosure, Fritham Plain, and Irons Well. This rewarding route offers open views, tranquil woodlands, and historic spots.
Day 2: Morning Canoe/Kayak Adventure & Afternoon Hike
Morning:
A guided river tour with the choice of canoe or kayak on the peaceful Beaulieu River—an unforgettable experience suitable for beginners and a highlight of the trip. All Equipment included.Afternoon Walk:
Brockenhurst & Roydon Circular
• Distance: 13 km | Elevation Gain: 112 m
• Time: 3-3.5 hours | Pace: Medium (4 km/hr)
• Hike Rating: 2/5 - Moderate
• Wander through picturesque countryside, starting in Brockenhurst and winding past Perrywood Enclosure, Dilton Gardens, Roydon Manor, and the ancient Roydon Woods.Day 3: Burley & Holmsley Circular Walk
• Distance: 16 km | Elevation Gain: 210 m
• Time: 4–4.5 hours | Pace: Medium (4 km/hr)
• Hike Rating: 2/5 - ModerateWrap up the weekend with a longer hike starting in Burley. Explore Burley New Enclosure, Ridley Wood, Vereley Hill, Castle Hill Fort, Church Moor, and Holmsley. This route combines peaceful woodlands, historical landmarks, and gorgeous views.

Relax at the welcoming YHA New Forest, nestled in tranquil grounds on the edge of Burley village. This comfortable hostel offers everything you need for a restful stay:

• Meals/ Drinks: Evening meals will be at local pubs/restaurants or self-catered at the Hostel. Please bring your own food for breakfasts and packed lunches.
• Transportation: Participants must arrange their own transport to and from activities. Lift shares will be coordinated wherever possible.Preparation and Level:
The hikes are Easy / Moderate in difficulty, featuring some gradients and uneven ground. You need to be physically capable of hiking for up to 5 hours. To join the hike, make sure you're dressed appropriately, as inappropriate attire will result in non-participation. Safety and Guidelines: Walks and activities are led by qualified guides. All activities will have a first aider.How we grade our walks:

This scenic circular route begins in Sandy and takes us through a diverse mix of woodland, heathland, and open countryside. We'll start by heading into the RSPB Sandy Warren Nature Reserve, where you may spot a variety of birdlife and enjoy peaceful trails through pine and broadleaf woodland.From there, the route continues through Sandy Heath, with its gently undulating landscape, before reaching the historic Potton Windmill, a striking landmark nestled among fields. The walk then winds through the charming village of Everton, offering a perfect spot for a mid-walk break.
The return journey follows part of the Greensand Ridge Walk, offering far-reaching views and a mix of shaded woodland and open tracks, before looping back into Sandy. Expect a moderately long but mostly gentle walk with a mix of terrain and good paths throughout ideal for walkers with a reasonable level of fitness looking to explore the Bedfordshire countryside.
Highlights include:
RSPB Sandy Warren Nature Reserve - A beautiful, peaceful area of heath and woodland managed by the RSPB. Great for spotting birds, especially woodpeckers, nuthatches, and even occasional birds of prey.
Sandy Heath - Open heathland and pine woodland with wide, sandy paths. Potton Windmill - A striking 19th-century post mill (privately owned but visible from the path). It's a rare and picturesque landmark in the middle of open countryside great for a photo stop.

This hike is a step up from our moderate routes, ideal for women who are building stamina and looking to challenge themselves a bit more. The 18.5 km distance puts it in the challenging range, but the terrain and pace make it achievable if you're comfortable being on your feet for several hours and ready for a longer adventure. A great in-between walk for those progressing from Grade 2 to Grade 3.What to Wear and Bring:
- Our walks go ahead in all weather, so dress appropriately. Always carry a waterproof jacket.
- Check the forecast and bring sun cream, a hat, or sunglasses for warm days, and waterproofs, a warm hat, and gloves for cold or wet days.
- Wear trousers or leggings to reduce the risk of tick bites and nettle stings. Avoid denim or cotton.
- Sturdy walking shoes or boots are essential. Open-toe shoes are unsuitable.
- Bring at least 1.5 litres of water, lunch, and snacks, as there may be no opportunities to buy food or drinks along the route.

Join us for an afternoon out paddling the River Lea We will spend a relaxed day paddleboarding in Hertfordshire from Cheshunt towards Broxbourne and back.
No experience needed & all equipment is included. 4 hours (including kitting up)
Cost is £45 P/P plus Meetups booking fee (Or pay by CARD)
Start time - 10.30am
End time - 2.30pmWe embark on a scenic paddle along the River Lea, commencing at Cheshunt. Our adventure will take us along the tranquil waters of the River Lee towards Broxbourne and then back again. With a touch of luck, we might catch glimpses of majestic Herons, graceful Swallows, and elegant Great Crested Grebes along the way.
All essential kit and equipment is provided

Everyone will be provided a buoyancy aid and a quick release belt. You must be able to swim 20 meters. The paddleboards are suitable for anyone up to 85kg / 13.5stone.This session is run by a qualified and insured paddle Sport leader / instructor and outdoor first aider.
What to wear/ bring:
Leggings (not cotton) / tee shirt (not cotton) and trainers (that you don’t mind getting wet)
If its cold - Fleece/ waterproof jacket / Waterproof trousers
If its warm - Hat, Sunglasses and suncream.
Spare fleece (to put in a dry bag - whatever the weather)
Complete change of clothing (to keep in your car (or mine if coming by train)

Beginner-Friendly Kayaking Taster Session
Location: Herts Young Mariners Base
Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Cost: £30 per person plus meetups booking fee OR pay by CARDCome and give kayaking a go in a relaxed and supportive environment! This 2-hour taster session is perfect for complete beginners or those looking to build confidence on the water.
Taking place on the calm waters of Cheshunt Lake, you'll learn the basics of paddling, steering, and staying safe while having fun. All equipment is provided, and a friendly instructor will guide you throughout.What to wear/ bring:
