Continue your adventure (or make a start) along the Adelaide100® trail, a remarkable 100km circuit walk that showcases the stunning coastline, CBD, suburbs, and Adelaide Hills.

Our journey continues as we bid farewell to the coast and venture inland, following the meandering path of the river Torrens towards the heart of Adelaide. This scenic walk along the river is often referred to as an "oasis within the city” and offers glimpses of Adelaide’s rich history through its iconic landmarks.

Starting near West Beach, we head to the Torrens and begin to make our way along the tranquil riverside where you’ll encounter a diversity of native tree species such as River Red Gums, Blue Gum, Sheoak, Native Cherry, Native Pine, and Wattles. These river banks serve as natural sanctuaries teeming with an abundance of birdlife. Keep your eyes peeled for black swans gliding across the water, stunning white-winged fairy wrens flitting about, as well as heron, ducks, lorikeets, bee-eaters, and honey eaters.

The trail is very well maintained and does not require crossing any main roads but does feature some undulations along the way to keep things interesting and a slight uphill gradient as we follow the river.

During our hike, we’ll pause at a lovely location for morning tea to enjoy a cuppa and indulge in a sweet treat and along the way our experienced guide Leonie, will discuss the historical significance of certain locations for the local Kaurna people and share interesting history about Adelaide Oval’s legacy and fascinating details about Torrens Weir.

Additionally, Leonie will be happy to provide you with some valuable phone photography hints and tips to make the most of your day.
