This talk will dive into the research that gave birth to the Transformer, the "T" in GPT, and the core architecture of LLMs and Gen AI. We will dive into mechanisms of this revolutionary approach as well as it's motivations and diverse applications.

• About the speaker: Dr Sean McMahon received his PhD in Robotic Vision and AI in 2018. Since graduating, he worked for a recently acquired med-tech startup, providing surgical pre-operative planning to orthopaedic surgeons.
