Preparing for next workshop and track day (Linux Conference, January 21st 2019)

Details
The aim of these regular meet-ups is to help newcomers and experienced people alike to get into A.I / Machine Learning and robotics ... using the fun approach of building and racing 1/16 scale-model self-driving cars. Based on the popular DIYRoboCars (in the U.S) and DonkeyCar.
During this session, we'll be focusing on getting ready for the upcoming workshop and track day, which will be the Linux Conference 2019 (Christchurch, NZ). Note: We'll hold some local track days soon after that. If you have an interest in building a DonkeyCar from scratch ... then, this will be the meeting for you.
Also, Mark Wolfe will be bringing along an Amazon custom designed DonkeyCar picked up from the recent Amazon Reinvent conference in the U.S ... https://aws.amazon.com/deepracer
State of play ...
- RC car kit: Being sourced (right now) direct from Shenzhen (to minimize costs)
- Electronics: Being designed at the HackerSpace by John Spencer: https://github.com/CCHS-Melbourne/donkey-hat/blob/master/pdf/donkey-hat.pdf
- AI / vehicle control: Standard DonkeyCar: http://docs.donkeycar.com and https://github.com/autorope/donkeycar
Whilst there is no charge for this meeting ... if you aren't a CCHS member, then a modest donation on the night would be greatly appreciated ... to help support the HackerSpace.
