Details
"Join WMHT & the New York State Museum for a special NYS Museum Pride Day screening and discussion of the American Experience film, Stonewall Uprising on Sunday, June 29th at 12pm. When police raided the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay bar in the Greenwich Village section of New York City on June 28, 1969, the street erupted into violent protests that lasted for the next six days. The Stonewall riots, as they came to be known, marked a major turning point in the modern gay civil rights movement in the United States and around the world. Stonewall Uprising tells the story of an event that sparked a movement and changed the world.
Before the film, enjoy refreshments from Cafe’ Euphoria.
Screening and refreshments provided through support from the Ernest O. Reaugh Advised Fund for LGBTQIA+ Advocacy."
