For our first session, our discussion theme will be the public good. We will read and discuss a selection from John Dewey's The Public and Its Problems, with potentially one or two short companion pieces. You encouraged to read the texts prior to the meeting, but are still welcome to join if you are not able to complete the reading(s).
The settings of the free meetup account only allow 10 attendees to register for the event, but all who are interested are welcome to attend. Being put on the waitlist by meetup does not mean you are not able to attend; just get on the waitlist and then show up.

I uploaded the whole of Dewey's The Public and Its Problems, but we will read and discuss ONLY CHAPTER 1. In addition to this chapter, we will discuss the short excerpts by Aristotle and Bentham.
