Open Source Intelligence: Hiding in Plain Sight

Most organisations do not have a large Security team or even a dedicated Open Source Intelligence team. This does not mean one cannot use OSINT skills and techniques as part of their everyday work.

This presentation should provide a holistic view of the OSINT methodology and show you how OSINT can be used offensively as well as defensively in both infosec as well as investigations. In this talk, we will cover some skills and practical tools and techniques that will make intelligence gathering/ investigations a very rewarding and an exciting experience.

Tara Dharnikota started her career as a Network Engineer and moved onto Cyber Security leading a fabulous team of OSINT and Red Team investigators at Telstra. She has worked in the industry for nearly a decade and is very passionate about Open Source Intelligence.

The team focus is primarily on creating Cyber Security Situational awareness, People (Executive) digital footprint, M&A Due diligence and Crimeware involving malicious domains, breached credentials, Dark web and social media among other things.

CTF:

Sajeeb and friends will be putting together another CTF.

We have a limit of around 60 seats and a total of 70/75 including standing. First come first served :)

Speakers will not sell any product or service; we have three rules.

No sales pitches, No agency recruiters and No fluffy content.
