What we’re about
This group is for those dedicated to bringing the classical instrumental repertoire to life in an encouraging environment. Any stage of your classical development is fine, from beginners to advanced. Play any instrument you can carry! There is a Yamaha baby grand piano here as well as two digital pianos. If you play any instrument other than piano, you'll surely find a pianist who can accompany you if you so desire. Solo performances are encouraged as long as your musical selection is in the classical vein. Budding pop musicians, jazz and rock musicians, and ballade singers are welcome at a SEPARATE meetup (not this one), scheduled later in the month. This meetup which is on the second Sunday of every month at 1:00 p.m. is strictly classical, and strictly instrumental, with one exception: opera singers are welcome! Opera singers can sing a cappella or one of will make an attempt to accompany you if you bring the music. We always have a feast and plenty of applause and encouragement on your journey to almost perfection! Feel free to bring a guest. Children over the age of 16 are also welcome if they have reached the advanced beginner level. Meetups like these are ideal for those who need experience performing in front of an audience, or who need performance experience in preparation for an exam in a certificate program. RSVP's are perhaps the most important ingredient of a successful meetup; without your RSVP, we don't know how many to accommodate, or how much food to prepare. Upon receiving your RSVP, you will receive directions for accessing the building and parking. We look forward to appreciating your talent and sharing your progress! If you have any questions, call Rubato Queen (my Tik Tok name) at (562) 881-2737. And while it's great if you join this group, an RSVP is as beautiful as a Chopin Nocturne!
