Description: A 7 mile hike at White Memorial Foundation, a nature Sanctuary in Litchfield, CT, on a relatively flat section of the Mattatuck trail.
The White Memorial Foundation and Conservation Center is located in northwestern Connecticut, about an hour west of Hartford. The entrance to White Memorial can be found two miles west of Litchfield, off of Route 202 at 80 Whitehall Road.
*If your travel app takes you up Whites Woods Rd. from the South, you cannot access Whitehall Rd. directly. You must turn left onto Bissell Rd. first and then take either your first or second left onto Whitehall Rd. to reach the Main Area.
Ice traction devices are recommended.
We will meet in the parking area near the nature museum at 10 am and pause for a lunch/snack break around 1230 pm.
