Description: Bring the kids, or come by yourself, and join us on a loop hike at Harman Park in Lyme, CT. We will follow the Red Trail and the Goodwin Trail, where we will see an old sawmill site, beaver lodges, and interesting stone structures such as Snout Rock, Turtle Rock, and the Stone Serpent. There are no steep rock scrambles, but a section of the trail does lead uphill to a ridge. There is a possibility of wet, snowy, and/or icy spots along the trail, so sturdy footwear will be important. Total hiking distance will be 3.25 miles with a total elevation gain of 225 ft. Hiking time should be between 1.5 and 2 hours. Please dress in layers appropriate for the weather and trail conditions, and be sure to bring water and a snack or lunch. Please note that registration is required for this activity. Specific details for meeting time and location will be emailed to all registered participants the day before the hike.
