Audience: 20’s & 30’s
Description: Join the 20s and 30s Group to hike the Witch Hazel Trail in Devil's Hopyard State Park in East Haddam, CT. The hike will be approximately 5.4 miles and take between 2.5 and 3 hours to complete. The trail will have some water features and an elevation gain of approximately 800 ft.
Please bring microspikes and dress warm (it will likely be cold and you can always remove layers if needed). A hat, gloves, multiple layers, and hand/feet warmers are recommended if temperatures are low.
Don't forget water! We recommend water in an insulated bottle as bladder lining can freeze. Dogs are welcome if they are properly equipped for a winter hike.
We will meet at the parking lot at 8 Foxtown Rd, East Haddam, CT 06423. There are at least two main parking lots at this park, we will be meeting at the parking above the falls.
This hike will be canceled in the event of heavy rain or snow. A notice will be sent out to registrants if this occurs.
