Catch the last of the fall colors with the AMC! Join us on Saturday, November 8th for a five mile loop in D.C.’s own Rock Creek Park! We’ll enter the park through the Soapstone Valley Trail near the Van Ness Metro station, take the Western Ridge Trail to the ruins of a Civil War-era fort, and loop back around to Soapstone Valley on the Valley Trail. Afterwards, the 20s-40s group will stop by Bread Furst for treats and hot drinks.

This hike is the first in a series focused on exploring transit-accessible green spaces in the DMV.

Time: 9:30am - 1:00pm

Meeting location: Van Ness UDC Metro Entrance, east side

Please register on AMC website as well

What to wear:

  • Hiking boots with athletic socks. If you don’t have hiking boots, athletic shoes with treads that can handle more rugged terrain are fine.

  • Layers! Current projected high is in the mid 60s but it will likely be chillier when we get started in the morning.
