Today, we're celebrate the joy of spring at the Cherry Esplanade in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens with professional photographer Rebeca Galbinski @Rebecaphotony! Rebeca will share smartphone photography tips for capturing this cacophony of springtime joy.

There is nothing quite like bathing in a forest of spring flowering trees! The Brooklyn Botanical Garden in Prospect Park is an amazing place to experience and photograph this special time of year, and is often cited as one of the best parks to see cherry blossoms in New York City. Afterwards, we'll walk 2-4 miles through the the garden and Prospect Park on paved paths (depending on how the group feels), seeking out all the little signs from mother nature that warmer weather is here to stay!

Admission to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is free on Saturday to its members, members of the New York Botanical Garden, NYCID card holders, and children under 12 years old. There are also limited free tickets via Culture Pass, accessible with a NYC Library Card. Others pay $22 for adults or $16 for seniors & students with ID.

Meet 11:00 AM at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch at the Grand Army Plaza in Prospect Heights. The closest subway is the Grand Army Plaza Station on the 2/3 line. The F/G/B/Q/S are also nearby.

Bring water, snacks/lunch, weather-appropriate clothes, your smartphone or camera, sturdy footwear, and a positive attitude! No dogs are permitted on this walk.
