What is this workshop?
This is a meditation-based, experiential workshop introducing the subtle energy body as it is used in non-dual tantric yoga (mantrayana).
The emphasis is not on belief or theory alone, but on direct experience. Through guided meditation, you’ll be invited to feel into awareness, energy, and embodiment, and to explore how subtle energy practices can support emotional healing, integration, and clarity of mind.
The workshop is structured as a step-by-step exploration, with time for explanation, guided practice, reflection, and questions, and a short tea break halfway through (tea and biscuits provided). Along with practise instructions to take home with you.
What will we practise?
Mantra is used here as a meditative tool — combining sound, attention, and intention — to help engage the subtle energy body and reveal stable, clear awareness.
The core practices include:
• Guided awareness-based meditation
• Gentle visualisation and breath-work (pranayama)
• Simple mantra practice
• Feeling into subtle energetic movement and form of the body and field
• Resting in clear, wakeful awareness — recognising moments of natural clarity beyond effort
Participants should be open to engaging with mantra practice during the workshop. This does not require adopting any belief system; rather, it is approached as an experiential method that you’re encouraged to explore, question, and assess for yourself.
About subtle energy and Buddhanature...
In non-dual tantric traditions, the body and mind are understood as a unified field of awareness and energy. The subtle energy body refers to the felt, energetic dimension of experience that mediates between physical sensation, emotion, and consciousness.
This includes the central energy channel and chakra system, as well as subtler energetic fields that extend through and around the body. Such practises help:
• Release deeply held tension and trauma patterns
• Support emotional and physical balance
• Clarify awareness beyond habitual self-identification
In this approach, Buddhas are understood not as distant deities to believe in, but as expressions of awakened qualities — clarity, compassion, ease, and freedom — that already exist as potentials within our own nature.
The practices are offered as an experiment: rather than accepting ideas on faith, the invitation is to notice what actually shifts in your experience over time.
This workshop is suitable for:
• People with an existing meditation practice
• Those curious about subtle energy and tantra
• Open-minded beginners who enjoy experiential exploration
No prior experience with mantra or energy practices is required — only a willingness to engage with them during the session.
We have chairs or cushions to sit on, plus blankets to stay warm. Please wear clothing comfortable enough to meditate in, and bring an open mind.
If you know someone who might enjoy this session, feel free to share the Meetup link with them.
