### Overview

Technical interviews in analytics are changing.
Live coding and trivia-style questions are slowly being replaced by scenario-based technical problems - where interviewers care less about syntax and more about how you think, clarify ambiguity, and structure solutions, especially in a world where AI tools exist.
This session breaks down:

  • Why this shift is happening
  • What interviewers are actually evaluating
  • How strong candidates approach scenario-based technical questions in real time

This is not a coding workshop.
It’s a thinking workshop.

### What We’ll Cover

In this session, we’ll walk through:

  • Why scenario-based technical interviews are becoming the norm
  • What interviewers are listening for (even when you don’t reach a perfect solution)
  • How to:
  • Ask high-value clarifying questions
  • Think out loud without rambling
  • Break vague problems into incremental, concrete steps
  • Communicate trade-offs and assumptions clearly
  • Common mistakes candidates make when answering scenario questions

We’ll also work through example scenarios and dissect what a strong response actually sounds like.

### Who This Is For

This session is useful if you:

  • Are interviewing (or about to) for data / analytics roles
  • Have solid technical skills but struggle to “perform” in interviews
  • Want to understand how interviewers evaluate reasoning, not just correctness
  • Are navigating interviews in the age of AI-assisted work

This is not aimed at beginners with zero exposure to analytics concepts.

### Format

  • 30 minute guided session
  • Live walkthroughs + discussion
  • Time for Q&A
