A brisk hike of about 10 miles. Coventry Woods is an attractive township park in North Coventry Twp., Chester County. It contains 688 acres with the nearby and accessible Woody's Woods weighing in at 260 acres. Most trails are well kept. Some are not well kept and exhibit excellent Japanese stiltgrass infestation. This should not be an issue in mid-December. The area is not often crowded. Parking is in a somewhat obscure lot down a one way single track road which is the extension of Fernbrook Lane . Look for the grey car with the open trunk.

We will also, most likely, end up in Woody's Woods . It is a connected park in an adjacent township. Come planning to keep up. This will be a brisk hike. Think 2.5+- miles per hour. No severe elevation but enough to keep it interesting. Please bring water and calories for 4 or 5 hours in the woods. A fully charged cell phone is a good idea. Cell coverage in here is decent, not great. There are plastic facilities nearby the parking area. Pleasant demeanor required. Lunch breaks occur on the hikes of others. Snow on the ground will, of course, extend the time needed. Questions or concerns, please text or call George at 484.919.6000.

Plan on signing AMC's waiver of liability at the trailhead. You are most welcome to signup on AMC'S web site but please also sign up on Meetup. This allows both me and your fellow hikers to see who is attending, aids the vetting process and helps my almost nonexistant memory for names. It also allows for convenient communication. The fine print ... Rain/snow/ice cancels. I'll post on Meetup 2+ hours before if it looks like a problem. I tend to err on the side of caution.
