The Hues of Healing: What Does Color have to do with Aromatherapy?

Details
Because high-quality essential oils and hydrolats are usually bottled in amber (brown) or cobalt (blue) glass bottles to protect their quality, rarely, unless you are lucky like us, and hand pour oils into smaller bottles, are you able to see the exquisite colors of many of the oils.
Many are clear, but some are navy blue, brilliant orange, bold yellow, deep green, etc. Sometimes, color can indicate a prominent chemotype in the oil, like the deep blue associated with chamazulene, found in Blue Chamomile and Blue Tansy. Other times, the oil may be clear or a pale yellow, but the plant itself has color, like Blue Spruce, which has pale blue needles, from which the oil is distilled. Regardless, if an EO has a color signature of any kind, that is a distinction that can convey various information about that oil's physical, emotional or spiritual properties.
Join us to explore why it helps to be aware of the role of the various hues that occur in aromatherapy...you may just find that one of those precious oils is a perfect one for you!
