Thursday Night Feeder - "Fish 'n Chips on Brighton Beach"
Details
Depart from the "Yarning Circle" in Ewen Park (next to Lang Road Bridge on Cooks River, Hurlstone Park) at 5.30pm, Thursday 20 April.
Easy 12km ride using off road cycle paths along Cooks River, through Kyeemagh and down by the beach to Brighton-Le-Sands.
Stop for an hour, grab food from Oceanheart Seafoods in Bay Street to eat on the grass overlooking the bay. A "house fish pack" with chips and drink will set you back $13.50, full menu here
We will return on the same 12km path to the Yarning Circle in Ewen Park, expect to be back around 8-8.30pm.
You will need a bike in good working order, helmet, water bottle and
spare tube for punctures. As we are riding at night, you must have a white light on the front and a red light on the rear of your bike.
Grade: Easy (average 15kph)
Surface: Mostly off road & flat, using concrete/bitumen cycle paths
Distance: 24 kms
Bicycles: Any (Touring, Hybrid, MTB & e-Bikes). No e-scooters, not yet legal on this route's shared paths.
Children? No unaccompanied children, but if you have cycle-competent kids you'd like to bring on a "school" night, email or Comment to discuss.
This should be a good ride for those getting back into cycling; a gentle pace with a break between the two legs.
NOTE: Forecast is for rain during the day, perhaps clearing from 6pm to 8pm. Bring wet weather gear if coming. I will still lead the ride even if raining.
