Chart Reading Group 2: North Node into Aquarius and Eclipse Season

The first eclipse of the season is a Solar eclipse (new moon) at Leo 20 in a wide conjunction to the South Node at Leo 29. Celeste Teal, in her book: Lunar Nodes, describes the South Nodes eclipses as ‘payback time’. Dragon’s Tail acts as an attraction to timeless service and things everlasting.
• Through this vibration we are called upon to offer something back. It is payback time; time to balance the ledger. The energy of an eclipse with this influence may be exactly what is needed to complete a project that has previously consumed much time and effort. This eclipse has to do with giving back, serving selflessly and practicing compassion. It is the most difficult in many respects simply because we are more conditioned and encouraged to acquire than to give. (Advice taken from Celeste Teal: Lunar Nodes)
Traditionally, Solar eclipses are said to be more about Kings, those in positions of power and collective matters. Much airtime is given to analysing when Trump might have his downfall. Conservative estimates are that the US has been spending 1 billion per day on the Iran war.
But to me the question is, when will the American people have had enough? When will they rise up and take to the streets in mass protest? The same could be said of Europe, which is presently at the forefront of climate change, experiencing greater heat changes than anywhere else. When will Europeans start to demand change? The world is presently a tinderbox. But things just keep getting worse. Stay tuned for the Sun to rise.
Will this Leo New Moon eclipse be a beginning of this? Or just another step on the way? The beautiful trines and sextiles of Barbault’s basket have the capacity to facilitate change. The idealism of Neptune, the illumination of Uranus, both serve Pluto’s mandate in Aquarius to burn old systems down to the ground and rise Phoenix like with a new vision. This vision could either be fascism (presently in ascendancy) or a world that is more true and beautiful, new ways of sharing power and material wealth etc.
As without, so within and all of this also applies to our personal lives and our own experiences and shifts in perception. The last Full Moon, whilst not an eclipse, packed a massive punch with Moon/Pluto opposite Sun/Jupiter. We have all been challenged in our beliefs, our ideals (Neptune is trine this Full Moon, as well as Jupiter being conjunct the Sun) and asked to do (yet another) deep dive into how we are operating on instinctual and feeling levels.
This New Moon eclipse coming, offers the new beginning that can come from this. Whatever you begin now, be aware that the work, or focus, may be in Leo right now, but the task of becoming whole and individuated, is all in service to Pluto in Aquarius. It is all in service to the great task of creating more loving and inclusive community.
This is further emphasised because the Nodes change sign and move into Leo South Node and Aquarius North Node. The next 18 months are surely going to bring forth some sort of revolution. If not collectively then very much individually. It is time to figure out what your role in all this really is and what does mean to approach your community in the spirit of well-being and right relationships.
To help grow us into this, we have a challenging T. Square of Venus in Libra opposite Neptune in Aries, square Mars in Cancer. Venus is at home in Libra, but her natural proclivity for harmony is put on steroids with the opposition to Neptune. A divine discontent that is further exacerbated by the square to an emotionally driven Mars in Cancer. Any illusions, and longing for love you may be feeling are tested by an equally potent Mercury Jupiter conjunction in Leo opposite Pluto. Mercury Jupiter conjunction can be inspirational or a fool’s errand of overblown ideas. Pluto demands that you come back to an authentic version of what is true for you. Resist the plutonian habit of judging yourself or others harshly. Take the journey inter your own hidden motivations with humility and faith that we are all our own unique vibration of love. The revelation of that Love is the goal.
Yikes, there is a lot going on in this solar eclipse chart. We have entered the season of Leo: Sun – 1 month. Jupiter – 13 months. Nodal Axis – 18 months. Have Courage. Take Heart.
This New Moon eclipse leads on to the Full Moon, the culmination of this cycle. Although the Sun/Moon has slipped into the Virgo/Pisces axis, it still has a strong Aquarian flavour as Uranus forms a T. Square to it. Service (Virgo/Pisces) to the collective.
