ASTROLOGY FROM A JUNGIAN & THERAPEUTIC PERSPECTIVE: A Talk by Babs Kirby

Join Babs Kirby on Zoom at The Astrology Collective for a forty year retrospective of her work. Babs will be sharing astrological insights and thoughts from a Jungian and therapeutic perspective.

In this talk Babs Kirby will draw on various thoughts and ideas garnered over 40 years of practising as a professional astrologer from a Jungian and therapeutic perspective. She will explore love and happiness; complexes, which, according to Jung, “behave like independent beings”; creativity, which is our life force, our libido as Jung would say; how I approach children’s charts and the ageing process, and the impact both of these have on how we read a natal chart. This will be a montage of her reflections.

Babs Kirby is a writer and consultant astrologer, and has lectured extensively nationally and internationally, as well as offering workshops that combine humanistic and transpersonal psychology with astrology. She has an MA in Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies from Essex University; her dissertation being Jung’s View of Astrology – A Critical Enquiry into the Role of Astrology in Analytical Psychology. She retired as an integrative psychotherapist in 2011 after practising for thirty years. Two of her books, Interpreting Solar and Lunar Returns: A Psychological Approach and Experiential Astrology have been staples in our astrological library for years.   Her books also include Love and Sexuality – an Exploration of Venus and Mars, co-written with Janey Stubbs and recently re-published by Veneficia, and 21st Century Star Signs published by Arrow Books for Random House. Babs is a trustee of The Urania Trust (www.uraniatrust.org) a charity in the UK, which provides funding for a variety of astrological endeavours, and she was a member of the Sophia Committee, whose remit was to establish astrology on the curriculum in universities, in which it was successful. She is a founder member and fellow of the Association of Professional Astrologers International, (www.professionalastrologers.co.uk).  She was at one time Vice President of the Faculty of Astrological Studies, and a teacher there for twelve years.
