All We Imagine is Light (India, 2024)

We all appreciate nurses in our hospitals. Or we ought to. This film follows the lives of 3 nurses in Mumbai, India. The way the lives of each of the nurses unfolds gives us insight into daily life and issues in modern India.

Prabha has entered an arranged marriage, but her husband heads off to Germany and doesn't contact her while Anu is young and in love with a Muslim, with makes life more than awkward. Parvaty is a widow whose home is about to be demolished for urban development.

Watch for the way the director Payal Kapardia uses light in the film - it becomes a means of healing.
