Blackheath, Junction Rock Grand Canyon, Govett's leap weekend of walking pt 1

This walk is simply amazing, fantastic views, amazing waterfalls, swim at Junction rock if time permits and the steep climb up out the valley to Govetts Leap.

This circuit starts in Blackheath and heads down into the Grand Canyon and Rodriguez Pass. The track goes through a wide variety of ecosystems and changing views along the way. An interesting part of this walk is the change in "mood" of the cliffs that surround the Grose Valley as the light conditions change throughout the day. Car shuttle will be required for the start and finish of this walk which will be arranged on the day.

This is a hard walk, please be self sufficient, its about 18km all up but a very steep climb up to Govetts leap at the end! Back in Blackheath for a cold beer and hopefully gourmet homemade pie at Ivanhoe's

Fun bit scrambling over a landslide, lovely riverside section beside Cox's River, nice amble through Grand Canyon, exciting lunch stop at Beauchamp falls and the magnificent Govetts Leap (Leap is Scottish for waterfall)

Please bring: Lunch, snacks, water, sturdy walking shoes, hat, suncream, jacket in case of a change in weather.

On all walks I carry a PLB, first aid kit, survival kit and much more, trained in remote area first aid, bush survival skills, tour leader and an experienced outdoor leader. I will also carry a pair of UHF walkie talkie for safety in bad weather
