Hawks Nest Holiday Park, 2 Nights Paddling, Peddling or Bush Promenading

Here is the opportunity to spend two nights car camping in the Reflections Hawks Nest holiday park. We can do some cycling or walking in the national park, some paddling on the Myall River or relax in the quiet seaside town.

The plan is to arrive at Hawks Nest Reflections Holiday Park from 4.30PM on Friday 25 July. After setting up camp we can have dinner across the road at the Benchmark on Booner but if the Benchmark is still closed from their recent fire we can go to the golf club for dinner and beverages.

On Saturday morning when the winds are light a nice paddle can be had on the Myall River. It's a 10km approx return paddle up the river to Myall River Camp. On Saturday afternoon a good walk of approx three hours duration can be had along Bennets Beach and then to the summit of Yacaaba Mountain. Bike riders can also do a ride along the quiet road to Bombah Point or mountain bikers can do a ride along the old mining road to Seal Rocks where the pleasant lakeside spots of Shelly Beach and Johnsons Beach can be reached.

On Sunday we can possibly drive up to Mungo Brush for the 6km return walk through the cabbage tree palm rainforest and along The Broadwater Lake to Tamboi fishing village, or there is the opportunity to walk to Freshwater Beach. Then the ferry can be taken across to a nice lunch spot at Myall Shores or we can have lunch in Bulahdelah and even do the climb to Mount Alum for those with a bit more time and energy to spare.

The accommodation: We will camp in the flat, grassy and spacious campsites at Reflections Holiday Park. I can get a group booking discount for $35 per site each night for one or two people, that's pretty good for a beachfront holiday park with flush toilets and hot showers. Please note that the bookings of two people per site only allow for one vehicle so if two people both want to drive they will need to arrange which vehicle is taken on site but there is plenty of spare parking in the car park next to the holiday park. NB if you don't want to camp at Hawks Nest you can book accommodation in the nearby Hawks Nest Motel.

The eating: On Friday and Saturday night there are dining options at Hawks Nest Golf Club or Benchmark on Booner. On Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast can be had at the Hawks Nest Bakery or The Nest Cafe. You can bring all your own food if you want and have your meals in the camp kitchen at Reflections Hawks Nest.

People who book their own site are allowed a credit through reflections holiday parks if they cancel, this credit is valid for twelve months. People who book with me at the reduced rate will not be entitled to a credit on cancellation unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled.
