Great North Walk: Circular Quay to Chatswood (16 km) ⛴️ 🥾 😎

You wanted to do the Great North Walk?

This is the first section starting with a ferry ride from Circular Quay and ending up in Chatswood. We start off walking through some of the most picturesque areas of the Lower North Shore in Hunters Hill before heading through the mangrove wetlands and shaded forest sections of the lower parts of the Lane Cove River. We then make our way up the hill to get to our destination, Chatswood.

Grade: Medium.

Transport: Ferry from Circular Quay at 8:45 (Wharf 5 A) to Woolwich Wharf, Woolwich. We will meet on the left side before entering Wharf 5. Check www.transportnsw.info for latest updates. You can meet us at Woolwich Wharf if you like.

Fee: $10 fee applies to this event which can be paid in cash on the day or PayID (0478 953 035, Markus Wagner).

Equipment: Wear sturdy shoes, bring a jacket in case the weather turns, lunch as you will not be able to pick up food en route, snacks, sun cream, a hat and plenty of water (2-3 l). There are few facilities along the way and no shopping opportunities. Most importantly, bring a sense of humour, adventure and fun.

Get out points: Very few, in a pinch there are bus stops on Burns Bay Road and you could head to North Ryde (we won't be able to walk with you to the latter).
